Loop Food Zekeriyaköy
Designed by Wand Works Architecture in collaboration with YUP Studio Architecture, Loop Food is a combination of a bakery and a cafe celebrating French desserts. Architects approached the brief as an interplay between refined chic and modern minimalism by means of composition, language, and materials.
The space elevates the experience of a bakery and showcases a feminine, light and warm architecture drawing inspiration from Parisien cafés. Design aims to achieve harmony through sophisticated details, an elegant material palette, and well-thought-out joinery and furniture.
The owner's unique approach to hospitality that embodies domestic experience of a familiar home has resulted in a romantic and friendly interior. It is a community-focused venue with sweet comfort food at the heart. The space is designed to suit different social occasions. Seating options for different numbers of people or for the purpose of visiting are created within this welcoming bakery.
The ground floor houses the production kitchen, sales counters, and dessert displays with few seatings to prevent overcrowding of takeaway customers since Loop Food is a popular local treat. The first floor accommodates most of the seated customers within different scenarios. Tables able to host from a person up to eight people with different seating options of chairs, armchairs, bar stools, or sofas to enjoy a cup of coffee with an eclair or to study with friends or to work on your own.
Different units are designed to resemble wrought iron gazebos each. Dessert display and sales area, ice cream display and sales area, team work table or sofa area have their own cages. These iron gazebos and lighting posts over seating benches create the dreamy mix of interior and exterior styles while dividing the space into sub-functions.
Green as the branding color of the bakery is also inspired by the woods surrounding the building and is preferred as the background color on textured walls, ceilings, and microcement floor coverings. Brass details complement greens and elevate the white gazebos. Wood and leather accents are used proportionately to warm up all the cold colors and metals. Marble countertops and tabletops add a luxurious but familiar texture to the scene.
Open kitchen lets the summoning smell of baked goods into the cafe and out to the street. It also enhances the feeling of a friend's home kitchen; while the chefs are baking or preparing, customers would watch them while shopping and chatting at the same time.
Loop Food is located adjacent to a woodland where locals jog, walk their pets, or spend time with their kids. Loop Food's garden, facing the entrance of the woodland, is an open garden with no solid boundaries allowing the passage.
