Romania’s Human Scale Exhibition Explores Collective Intelligence
Romania presents HUMAN SCALE at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, a compelling exhibition and research project exploring the intersection of architecture and visual arts. Curated by Cosmina Goagea, the project brings together the works of artist Vlad Nancă and architecture duo Muromuro Studio.

Spanning two venues - the Romanian Pavilion in the Giardini and the New Gallery of the Romanian Institute in Venice - HUMAN SCALE examines 20th century Romanian architectural drawings alongside Nancă’s life-sized silhouettes and sculptures inspired by scale figures in those drawings. The exhibition interrogates the human figure’s symbolic and conceptual role in architectural thinking, highlighting "collective intelligence" and the relevance of built heritage in contemporary life.
Through immersive installations, archival material, and experimental design, HUMAN SCALE invites visitors to reflect on how architecture can be reimagined for a more human-centered 21st century.
