Cetin received his B.Arch & M.Arch degrees from the Middle East Technical University Architecture Department and holds a PhD degree in Architecture from Sheffield University. He worked as an assistant professor at Balikesir University Department of Architecture where he tought, Architectural Design studio as well as Conservation & Restoration. Later, he has tought at Yeditepe University, Department of Interior Design, as the coordinator of Design Studios and Courses on Analysis of Space. He was teaching Design Studio, Architectural Conservation, Perception-Geometry-Color, and Methods of Urban Design Analysis at KFUPM Dept. of Architecture in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia between 2009-2011. He received his title of Associate Professorship from Higher Education Council of Turkey (Y.Ö.K.). On his return, he continued teaching Fundamentals of Architecture, Design Studio and Space & Interior Design, Architectural Presentation Techniques in the Department of Architecture at Yeditepe University in Istanbul and also gave lectures at Dogus University as an Assoc. Professor for two semesters. Currently, he is teaching Construction Components, Materials and Design Studio at Department of (Int.) Architecture, Kadir Has University in Istanbul as an Associate Professor. He is also offering courses on urban morphological analyses, linguistic urban analyses, relations among urban experiences, power struggles, and urban space.
